most and least religious states

After reading the article, How religious is your state, it has shown me that the way scientist measure what state is most religious through a survey. many people ended up answering a few questions such as how often do you attend services? do you pray daily? do you believe in god? is religion important to you? Alabama was tied as most religious state with Mississippi and many more states in the south trailed close behind. it is interesting that southern states are more dominant in religion than northern states. i feel like scientist are very interested in knowing this information because it is a choice and many people can choose to believe in whatever they want, and for some reason the south believes in more then the north. i think they thought it was interesting just like i did.
