Families Reunite after U.S. Border Opens Up-6

On the shores of the Rio Grande Canal which is across from the Mexican border, over 300 families were reunited, even if it was only for 3 minutes! They opened the gates and let family members rejoin! The U.S. border patrol and Mexico's Federal Police were watching very closely making sure their were no escapes. The human rights advocacy group, "Hugs Not Walls" helped thousands of families reunite this past month. Starting at 9 a.m. groups of 20 people, 10 from each side would embrace family members that some had not seen in years or even decades! Cities of El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez were planned to meet again! To make sure no one got lost citizens for the US wore blue t-shirts while Mexican wore white. Fernando GarcĂa of the U.S.-based Border Network for Human Rights says "“This is an act of love, there’s hugs, smiles and happiness but still, it is also an act of protest. We need to raise awareness of the crisis of deported families.” I feel like this event would change many peoples lives if they did it more often, to help keep families that have been separated close to each other!

The election-5

Sorry about this one being behind, because it is very important. On November 8, 2016 the United State had a very competitive race between the 2 candidate Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, it was a very close and long race. Their were so many people voting that Trump would not be elected till the next day because of how long it takes to count up the votes. Donald Trump won the electoral votes 306 to 232 Hillary, while Hillary was winning the popular votes at the beginning but soon lost by only a few hundred thousand. 62,972,226 for Trump winning the popular vote and slowly behind is Hillary with 62,277,250. Donald Trump is going to be our new president for the next 4 years, so hopefully our country won't fall of its course and fingers crossed that trump won't diminish Woman's rights,  LGBTQ, Medicare for disabilities, and etc.

Trumps way on immigrations-5

After a recent interview with Donald Trump, he discusses his plan for immigration. Trump says that he plans to immediately deport 2 million to 3 million undocumented immigrants who have "criminal records" after his inauguration. For a man who is still not in the president seat he already knows what he wants. In a "60 minutes" Interview Trump says that "What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers....we are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate" In the interview he discusses a ton about how important it is to secure the border, and that that should be one of the first steps. It can be seen that Trump is also taking steps towards Obama's views, Obama had removed over 2.4 million during his 8 years of presidency, which many had been convicted of a crime.  Trump is also listening to what the people have to say, he will be accepting fence along some parts of the border as many republicans in congress have proposed.

Trump Riots-5

Recently we had our new president elected, Donald Trump, but not many people are too pleased. Thousands of people have been marching in protest on the streets in major cities, and its getting bigger. Every night since the election, cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Kansas City, Portland, NYC, and Milwaukee have brought out their signs and foul language to show their opinions. Many protestors have surrounded Trump Tower in New York City, where Trump lives and works. Trump recently tweeted "love the fact that the small groups of protesters last night have passion for our great country. We will all come together and be proud" giving off the vibe that he truly cares about this country. The protesting has gotten so bad that people have started getting arrested for vandalism, breaking car windows, setting fires, and etc. Walking down the streets you would hear many chants of the hate towards Trump. "Sexist, racist, anti-gay" it has gotten so bad that at one point someone lit the American flag on fire.

Arizona District 1 election

The outcome of the election between Tom O'halleran and Paul Babeu was very close. Tom took the lead with 111,729 votes and paul coming in second with 94,187. Tom did win this election as expected to many, paul just seemed very sketchy about information that had come out about him. Hopefully tom will start to support the LGBTQ and pro-abortion to help out his state.
