Cemetery outbreak 12-4

In a historic Jewish cemetery over 170 tombstones were knocked over and damaged. The vandalism was reported outside of St.Louis at a cemetery called Chesed Shel Emeth in University City, on a day that the White House denounced a spate of recent bomb threats against Jewish Community Center across the country. It upset many people for their families have all been buried there. The St. Louis Jewish community had received similar threats last month to the recent threats that appeared this Monday. From the start of the year through Monday over 69 bomb threats have been made to 54 Jewish centers in the United State and Canada. Trump addressed the issue on Tuesday saying "The anti-semitic threats targeting our Jewish community and community centers are horrible and are painful and a very sad reminder of the work that still must be done to root our hate and prejudice and evil." On Wednesday Vice President Mike Pence did visit the cemetery outside of St.Louis and conducted the most beautiful words that earned him a laudatory statement from the Anne Frank Center, "There is no place in America for hatred or acts of prejudice or violence or antisemitism. You just make us all proud." However many muslims did help raise over $60,000 to repair many of Jewish tombstones.

transgender bathrooms 12-3

Recently Trump's administration revered one of Obamas-era protections that allowed transgender students in public schools to use bathrooms that correspond with their gender identity has made many civil rights group angry. Last year the Education and Justice departments let transgender students use any facility that the schools and colleges had received federal funding for. "As President Trump has clearly stated, he believes policy regarding transgender bathrooms should be decided at the state level." Now it gives a inclusive process that will let parents, students, teachers, and administrators have a vote.

Trump Ally Review Intelligence Agencies 12-2

President Trump plans to assign a New York billionaire to lead a broad review of American Intelligence Agencies says the administration officials. Members of the community fear for their indolence and reduce the flow of information that contradicts the presidents worldview. Trump has blamed leaks form the intelligence community for the departure of Michael T.Flynn, his used to be national security adviser. Trump has chosen a Republican congressman from Kansas to run the C.I.A. and former senator Dan Coats, an indiana republican to be the director of national intelligence. While a possible role for Mr.Feinberg still follows intense speculation.

Trump chooses National Security adviser 12-1

President Trump recently appointed Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster as the new National Security Adviser. He is known for challenging conventional thinking while he also helped turn around the Iraq War. Trump announced his decision at his Mar-a-Lago Resort after interviewing candidates to replace Michael T. Flynn who was forced out of after withholding information from Vice President Mike Pence about a call with Russia's ambassadors. General McMaster is a veteran from both the Persian Gulf War and the second Iraq War. People are pleased with Trump's decision and hope that he is better than Flynn.

Silicon Valley slams Trump Immigration ban 11-3

Tech companies on Saturday started to worry about President Trumps new order that banned all non-citizens from several countries that prevented them from entering the United States for at least 90 days. Trump had recently sat down with the executives of Silicon Valley and expressed support for their innovation efforts that extends to works who have visas and green cards. A federal judge granted an emergency stay that temporarily allow people with valid visas that land in the U.S. to stay in the country. The CEO of apple even claims that he has employees that our directly affected by this new order. Executives from Microsoft, Google, Netflix as well as educators at MIT and Carnegie Mellon have all been affected, Microsoft has 76 employees who have work visas. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, says "We need to keep this country safe, but we should do that by focusing on people who actually pose a threat." Even Uber has employees affected.

Rogue" Federal Twitter Accounts Multiply 11-2

I am not a big fan of twitter but it seems that these unanimous, fact telling "federal agencies" do. Recently there has been some confusion on these twitter accounts claiming to be run by members of the National Park Service and other U.S. agencies. None of the account owners have come forward and identified themselves but they do still tweet about different facts of climate change, completely opposing the Trump administration. But this has happened before, people have been making silly twitter pages acting out as different characters and celebrities for years. Whats different about the number of fake accounts-about 80- are a result of a form of expression to oppose a media blackout and its all from Trump's administration's gag orders. Many of these accounts are encouraging their followers to "take action by calling their congressional representatives and providing scripts for what to tell their lawmakers." Nothing chaotic has happened yet so as of now most of the accounts are giving of simple facts and silly jokes.

Revenge of the bureaucrats 11-1

With a country of 2.1 million federal employees and Trump's plan to cut the size of the government workforce, is not going so well. Trump is expected to sign an executive order that freezes federal hiring while his team is finding ways to shrink several agencies which focuses on domestic policy. Many employees do have the power to leak information to the press and media and can use bureaucracy to slow down policy proposals. As Trump tried to cut the size of government he did promise not to touch the two-thirds of federal workforce that work for defense and security agencies. Since there are about 85% of the workers living outside of Washington D.C. it could upset people all over the country. Many of the workers are worried about "being asked too dismantle rules and regulations they've labored over years." As more committees push for a legislative package that would make it easier to fire federal workers, people are debating on whether or not they should quit. But right now it is so difficult to find civil service jobs that not many people have even tried.

the military buildup: cycle 10-4

President trump decided to change a few things about the military buildup. After his first visit to the Pentagon, Trump promised to invest in a bigger military, including more troops, warships and a modernized nuclear arsenal. Declaring he was beginning "a great rebuilding of the armed services of the United States." Trump plans on developing a "plan for new planes, new ships, new resources and new tools for our men and women in uniform — and I’m very proud to be doing that." It was after he told Defense Secretary Jim Mattis at a ceremonial swearing that he had this new plan. He even says that Congress will be happy to see his budget request and that "our military strength will be questioned by no one, but neither will our dedication to peace." This buildup is one of the main ways for Trump to leave the Obama administration on national security issues. As he worked on this he also recently signed an executive action on stricter immigration vetting.

Trumps executive orders cycle 10-3

Only 3 days into his office Trump has already started giving out rules. He signed many executive orders that slashed american aid to groups that provide abortions overseas, withdrew from the trans-pacific partnership free-trade negotiations and instead placed an immediate federal hiring freeze. 2 weeks before his inauguration trump promised to  accomplish six measures on his first day in office: a constitutional amendment for term limits for congress, a federal hiring freeze, a requirement to eliminate two federal regulations for every new one promulgated, a five-year ban on White House and congressional officials become lobbyists, a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of foreign governments and a ban on foreign lobbyists raising money for American elections. Trump has only accomplished a few of things but is still meeting with many people to accomplish this.

Women's March cycle 10-2

The morning of Saturday, January 21st, almost a million people walked in protest for the inauguration of President Trump. It all started as Facebook post and ended up becoming world known. London, LA, Paris, Australia, Miami and etc. all joined in for this one event. That Saturday is the second busiest day in the Washington subway system's history with 1 million trips. Many people were inspired to join because of Trumps campaign and the disappointing way he talked about women, minorities and immigrants. Trump responded to all of the protestors in a negatory way, "Watched protests yesterday but was under the impression that we just had an election! Why didn't these people vote? Celebs hurt cause badly." Hopefully Trump has figured out the way he perceives women to be and will change his views.

Protestors at Trump's inauguration cycle 10-1

Before Trump's Inauguration for presidency on Friday, a bunch of streets protestors started lining up and became violent. Many smashed windows and vandalism soon happened, broken windows at a bank and a vandalized Starbucks, but police scrambled to contain most of them. Reports say that police had to use tear gas to disperse some protestors. While many of the protestors tried to blend in in the crowd of Trump fans, there were still many chants urging action on climate change, Black Lives Matter, and racism. even though there were a few protestors there were more fans holding up different signs saying "Make America Great Again", and even t-shirts with flags to fake money with Trump's face. As it got closer to his inaugoration several swearing people locked arms in large groups to block the ticket holders from entering gates to the mall. Many fans had to be redirected says a spokesperson for for the inaugural joint information. Six entrance gates had been completely shut down and some protestors chanting "f*** Trump" and hurled objects at guests were pepper sprayed by police and sent out. As the inauguration still goes on hopefully not as many people were be arrested.

Eric Holder fights Donald Trump? Cycle 9-2

Democratic leaders of the California state legislature tapped Eric Holder to serve as an outside legal counsel. Eric was a former attorney general during Obama's Presidency. The California State Legislature is preparing for a ton of court battles with Donald Trump's White House. They believe that with the changes there will be many problems for California ahead and all the want to do is protect it. "This is a critical moment in history of our nation. We have an obligation to defend the people who elected us and the policies and diversity that make California an example of what truly makes our nation great."Holder will help by advising them to resist any attempts to roll back the progress California has made. De Leon, California's first elected leader of the senate, said "We don't want to fight. But if necessary, we will fight to protect the values of California. Given what i've seen so far with regard to the Cabinet selections, there probably is going to be a fight around the corner very, very soon."

Obama's ending solutions Cycle 9-1

As Obamas presidency starts to wither with President-elect Donald Trump coming to the stand, he has made some new rules and changes in the past few months. A few problems that he has tried to resolve such as funding for schools, ending the long immigration policy where Cuban migrants gain legal residency if they make it on US territory, and to empty the naval facility are still being thought off. Obama did add on a few national monuments in the American South, all of the sites mark the civil rights movement. Obama has preserved land and marine areas from the pacific island to undersea mountain ranges in the atlantic. He is trying to change many things before Trump becomes president.

Israel

1. Israel has a parliamentary system. Their power is organized by the Prime Minister becoming the head of government and also the leader of the multi-party system. Israel has all three branches of the government but the Judiciary branch is Independent. Israel does not live off of the Constitution and has a unitary system.

2. There are 34 political parties in Israel

3.The most important parties are ones with Knesset seats. A Knesset is the unicameral national legislature of Israel. The ones with most Knesset seats are Likud (national liberalism) and Zionist Union.

4. Israel's political system allows for a multi-party system with many different parties represented in the Knesset with only 120 seats.

5. The parties seem to be organized by what group is currently ruling. The top 3 groups are different Zionist groups; Labor Zionism, Revisionist Zionism, and Religious Zionism. There are a few Zionist Orthodox religious parties and anti-Zionist Israeli Arab parties that few people like to join.
