President trump decided to change a few things about the military buildup. After his first visit to the Pentagon, Trump promised to invest in a bigger military, including more troops, warships and a modernized nuclear arsenal. Declaring he was beginning "a great rebuilding of the armed services of the United States." Trump plans on developing a "plan for new planes, new ships, new resources and new tools for our men and women in uniform — and I’m very proud to be doing that." It was after he told Defense Secretary Jim Mattis at a ceremonial swearing that he had this new plan. He even says that Congress will be happy to see his budget request and that "our military strength will be questioned by no one, but neither will our dedication to peace." This buildup is one of the main ways for Trump to leave the Obama administration on national security issues. As he worked on this he also recently signed an executive action on stricter immigration vetting.
