Roy Blunt attended Southwest Baptist University(1970) and Missouri State University (1972). Blunt is a father of four and grandfather of six. Blunt was a county official in Missouri then was elected to be in the Secretary of State of missouri (1984) then he served in US House of Representative from 1996-2008 now he is trying to get re-elected into the senate as he was in 2010. Blunt believes that everyone deserves access to health care they can afford, pro-growth economic, energy, and regulatory policies that would help create more full time jobs and he supports and all-of-the-above energy policy. He is a support of Donald Trump.
Jason Kander attended American University and earned his J.D. in law at Georgetown University. Kander worked as an attorney and is a second lieutenant/instructor in the US army, as well as being a military intelligence officer in Afghanistan 2006-2007. Before running for the Senate, Kander served 2 terms in the Missouri House of Rep, representing District 44 and then was elected for the 2012 election for the Missouri Secretary of State and is now competing against Blunt for the Missouri Senate! Jason believes that women should get equal pay for equal work, affordable child care, and earned paid sick leave, he is fighting for middle class and protection from financial fraud, pushing for open and honest government, and wants to reduce business fees and eliminate unnecessary paperwork. Jason is a huge supporter of guns but does believe in getting background checks so terrorist will not be able to harm a person. He is a supporter of Hillary Clinton.
After watching Jason Kanders AD on gun support and how he blindfoldly put together a gun while kinda threatening Roy Blunt into doing the same thing kinda showed how serious this election was and how far these candidates would go. Blunt did respond using Kanders ad back at him to describe how he "received a F for his failure to defend the 2nd amendment....and supports amnesty for illegal immigrants."
So far more than $43 million dollars has been contributed to this election making this one of the most expensive in the nation. A huge donor is The Senate Leadership Fund which has given over $8 million on ads to attack Kander trying to hold Blunt into the senate seat. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employess have spent $1.8 million on mostly ads attacking Blunt, Ends Citizens United spent $1.78 million on Kanders behalf, The National Rifle Association's spent $1.6 million on Kanders ads claiming that they were weak for the second amendment.
Right now this race has been very close with the Republican Party Leading with 72.6% voters, and the Democratic Party with 69.9% voters. It is getting recognition in many other states not just Missouri! The election will take place on November 8, 2016, its coming up!
