In Florida there have been many strong winds and crazy weather that resulted in a 80 mph winds around the coast. The hurricane knocked out more than 250,000 people's power and fears of additional damage is overcoming the people of florida. Thankfully once the winds hit the land it downgraded into a tropical storm. The storm still spun and stretched from tampa to to the barrier islands of pensacola with a 74 mph gust. Florida's Governor Rick Scott told residents to avoid "unnecessary travel as trees, power lines, road signs, and traffic lights come down across the state". As of 9:30 am this morning 99% in Osceola County were without power. This was the first hurricane that has hit Florida in 11 years since Hurricane Wilma struck in 2005.
